Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) has been established on the pattern of All India Institute of Medical Sciences,
New Delhi as an Autonomous Institute under Bihar Act No.10, 1984 with a
view to develop clinical services in super-specialities of the highest standards.
It is envisaged that the Institute will function as an Institute of Excellence
to fulfill highest level of medical care to the people of State of Bihar
